In the documentary, Man on Wire, high wire artist, Philippe Petit, walks a high wire between the twin towers in New York City in 1974. His wire is 1,312 feet, a quarter mile above the ground! A feat that would probably strike fear is most people. Yet throughout the documentary, Petit does not focus on fear. He refers to his high wire work as performance, art. There is a beauty up there, he says. Poetry. What takes courage will be different for every individual. And each of us needs to know what that is.
